Cape Wind Finalizes Engagement of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ for Debt Financing

BOSTON, MA – Completing a financing milestone, Cape Wind has signed a term sheet to engage The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) as its Coordinating Lead Arranger of the commercial bank portion of the total debt financing for the 468-megawatt offshore wind farm.

Massachusetts Approves Cape Wind / NSTAR Power Purchase Agreement

BOSTON, MA – Cape Wind secured another major milestone today with the approval by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) of the 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NSTAR to buy Cape Wind’s energy, capacity and renewable energy credits.

On August 23, Jim Gordon announced that Cape Wind is purchasing East Marine in Falmouth at a press conference at the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce.  The marina will be used as Cape Wind's Cape Cod operations headquarters. Fifty people will be permanently employed at the Falmouth base of operations.

Cape Wind Statement on FAA Approval

After years of careful aeronautical review of Cape Wind, we are pleased once again to receive FAA approval in the form of this 'Determination of No Hazard'.

This is the fourth 'Determination of No Hazard' Cape Wind has received from the FAA since the agency began its review of the project in 2002. FAA's review and approvals of Cape Wind span back to the Bush Administration.

Today's FAA Determination of No Hazard states: "Therefore the FAA concludes that the project, if constructed as proposed, poses no hazard to air navigation."

Cape Wind Begins Major Offshore Operations with Commencement of Final Design & Engineering; Massachusetts-based Specialists are Part of Geology Survey Team

BOSTON, MA – Cape Wind has commenced a major geotechnical and geophysical survey operation as part of its construction design and engineering process and initial mobilization of the project on Horseshoe Shoal in Nantucket Sound.

This multi-million dollar offshore program begins tomorrow and will continue through September / October, involving up to 50 scientists, engineers, archeologists and geologists using specialized vessels.

Fugro is the lead Cape Wind contractor undertaking this effort.
