Study: Cape Wind Will Reduce Regional Electricity Prices by $7.2 Billion

BOSTON, MA, March 30, 2012 -- Cape Wind will reduce wholesale electric prices for the New England region by $7.2 billion over 25 years, according to a new report published today by Charles River Associates, a leading economic consulting firm.

The report shows that ISO New England, the electric grid operator, first dispatches electric generating units with the lowest cost fuel.

BOSTON, MA, December 28, 2011 – In a major legal victory today for Cape Wind, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in two decisions unanimously upheld the long term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between Cape Wind and National Grid.

Cape Wind Would Supply Large Amounts of Electricity as Heat Wave Sends Electric Demand Soaring


BOSTON, MA, July 22, 2011 – Climbing temperatures have pushed the demand for electricity yesterday and today to the highest this year just as Cape Wind would be producing large amounts of clean power according to records from Cape Wind’s data tower in Nantucket Sound.

Cape Wind’s offshore wind farm planned for Nantucket Sound would have been running at its full capacity of 420 megawatts yesterday, and today Cape Wind would be running above average in power production.
